We developed an exhilarating and captivating 8-bit running game for them, offering players the chance to win a portion of 50 million PC Optimum Points available throughout a two-week yearly campaign period. Players select a 'hauler' character to navigate through No Frills stores, collecting groceries and evading extravagant obstacles such as diamond heaps and butter sculptures shaped like swans. The greater the score achieved, the more PC Optimum Points players can earn.
Blast from the Past
We worked closely with the client to design the game in a way that would work inside an arcade cabinet. This format was later introduced in select stores across Ontario.

4 Years of Engaging Content
The game's immense success prompted No Frills to significantly expand and reinvest in Hauler: Aisles of Glory in the following years. This involved incorporating additional features, increasing the offering of PC Optimum Points, expanding the range of prizes, and introducing more avenues for victory. Subsequent campaigns have concentrated on fostering deeper connections with in-store transactions, leading to heightened engagement levels, increased brand recognition, boosted foot traffic, and enhanced sales figures.

The acclaimed 8-bit runner, renowned for its captivating gameplay, was optimized for mobile platforms, ensuring accessibility for users on the move. No Frills' strategic decision expanded the game's reach, catering to modern consumers' dynamic lifestyles. By transitioning to mobile devices, the brand engaged a broader audience while retaining the game's beloved features and challenges. This move facilitated greater interaction with the brand, as players could immerse themselves in the supermarket adventure with ease.
